Getting Started with Alamo City Colts Cheerleading

To ensure a welcoming and effective environment for all participants, the following are required to join our cheer program:



  • Age Groups: We welcome young athletes from ages 6 to 13, with teams organized by age and skill level.

  • Uniforms and Gear: Participants will need to purchase a uniform and proper cheer gear. Information on ordering through our recommended vendors will be provided upon registration.

  • Physical Fitness: A pre-participation physical examination is highly recommended to ensure each cheerleader's fitness and readiness to participate.

  • Conduct Agreement: All cheerleaders and their guardians must agree to adhere to the Alamo City Colts Cheer Code of Conduct, which promotes respect, positivity, and teamwork.

  • Registration Fee: An upfront registration fee is required to cover uniforms, competition entry fees, and other program expenses. Discounts for multiple children and payment plans are available.

    Our program emphasizes cheer fundamentals, dance routines, stunt techniques, and team coordination. Cheerleaders support football teams at games and participate in local cheer competitions.

    Fees include uniforms, competition entry fees, pom-poms, and other necessary gear. Like football, cheerleaders also receive a trophy or medal at the end of the season.

  • Are there any prerequisites for joining the cheer program?

    No previous cheer experience is required; our program is designed to accommodate beginners to advanced participants. We focus on developing each cheerleader's skills progressively.

  • How does the program ensure the safety of cheerleaders during stunts and routines?

    All coaches are certified in cheer safety and first aid. Routine practices are conducted on appropriate mats, and spotters are used during stunt practice to ensure safety at all times.

  • What opportunities are there for cheerleaders to perform?

    Apart from cheering at football games, our cheerleaders perform at community events, participate in local parades, and have the opportunity to compete in at least two cheerleading competitions per season.
